Here is Jason hanging drywall in one of the upstairs bedrooms (eventually the guest room, we think), to cover up the nasty old beams (they look much worse in person than they do in the picture)
Shims going up in one of the other bedrooms (hopefully it will be an office) for drywall, again, to cover the old exposed beams
Scott and Jason hanging drywall (Scott hamming it up for the camera)
Around mid-day Abby rode her bike over to see how things were going and watch a bit of what was going on
The mess in the living room. I was sitting there thinking, "I'm going to enjoy it when this is all over."
Jeff (my brother) and Keith (Scott's brother) ripping up the old tile in the kitchen. They worked SO HARD on this!
One of the walls in the kitchen was bowed in a bit, which would have made it very hard to put in the counter top eventually. Jason's solution? Rip out the wall, build the studs out, and put up new drywall. I think it only took a few hours for him to do it.
Scott's dad, doing some electrical work in the living room.
I realized today that I unfortunately didn't get a picture of Casey, Jason's wife. It's not because she wasn't working though. She definitely put me to shame, even working with a sprained wrist and being pregnant.
There is absolutely no way that we could have gotten as much done as we did yesterday without the help of our friends and family (Mr. O'Neal, Keith, Jason, Casey, Jeff, Justin, Mom, Dad, Abby, and Steph). Thank you so much for sacrificing your time and energy to help us!
