Outdoor Fun

Our time in Minnesota really felt like vacation since we were able to do "vacationey" things. Usually when we go to Minnesota we're helping with a Messengers presentation and things are really busy for everyone. Not this time! The day after Christmas we went shopping (at the request of my husband, I might add), then later in the week we went sledding, skating, and spent time hanging around the house playing Wii and board games. Very vacationey.

We went ice skating at a park near the O'Neal's house - my first time to skate outside on a frozen lake!Scott pretty much grew up on skates...he played hockey on a team until he was in 4th grade, and then with friends every winter from then on. Needless to say, he was skating circles backwards and forwards around me :) The ice gets so thick that they use trucks with a plow attached to clear the snow off the ice...even so, these cracks made me a little nervous. The day before we went sledding it had gotten so warm that it rained off and on, but not enough to wash all the snow away. So later that night when it got cold again, the rain made a layer of ice on top of all the snow, which made for very fast sledding.Scott & Keith playing Mario Baseball on the Wiihonestly, I'm not much of a video game player. I mostly sat in the chair behind them and watched...and took pictures of myself.
